City Solitude

City Solitude

A Story by Maria Ahmeerajti
"

"Sometimes distance creates struggles between the emotion and the will."

"

I slept late last night. At the rooftop, I was waiting for the train station across my dormitory to close. As I saw the rushing people going home, my heart rushed home too. Unfortunately, my mind decided to stay.

I was unusually silent. I could hear my breath. The bustling sound of the busy vehicles replaced the familiar crickets. I had no one else left to talk to. They are all bustling as well with their own lives. I sighed and my brain talked to my heart, "that's how the city changes people."

This is a flash fiction. It is intended to be this short. I wrote this a long time ago (September 21, 2012). I like writing stuff like this. :)

~ yes it's how the city work's, the way society force us to forget the simple things we forget to notice ~ we live in a society that force us to do the basics and priorities first before self ~ it’s a sad case when we lose ourselves into these world were we adapt to societies nature ~ I think it’s alright to stop and ponder on things that needed answers… Great work kabayan!

Thank you! :)
I liked the descriptive nature of the story. It conveys so much emotion. Nostalgia, I think that's the best way to describe it. I liked this. Going into my favorites.

About
I love to write when I feel like writing. I was educated in a free environment: talking about Shakespeare, Alighieri, Hemingway and the lit brainiacs, and of course the puzzles of language and grammar.. more..
