[ The Innocent Wildness of Man ]

Silence so wicked in the sphere
such signs comfort not any sane
and woes of my allies heard in every ear
and fields burning of warrior's germane.
O, son, sing the trumpts of war
for all enemies shalt hear none but mine soars
and march our armies through the forests of rain
as shivering tears of lost lores and pain
then wonder, o, son: the innocent wildness of man;
like mask unshaped of wounded act
playing nothing but this decieving role
where symphonies fail to reckless this fact
and drumming names,
through the raging battle...
and faces smashed...
where widows befall by fames...
and fires conquering mine bodily ash...
