Help Us Outgrow Our Fears

Help Us Outgrow Our Fears

A Poem by Ahmad Alhour

This world, ever gentler grows
Such unnatural, wicked, vice
Weakness is all it knows
And its tune it always reprise

Vigor, now, is our only relic
From all hearts it disappeared
And hardiness, a virtue, so ecstatic
Is forgotten... Its antipodes, adhered

Men walk a dying, decomposed, stance
In a world festering, and far gone
Broke all vows of fidelity, as they dance
Manliness has come undone

Help us outgrow our fears
Through the shadows of the Night
Help us withstand this pretense
From strength as we alight
