metaphorical Jesus.

metaphorical Jesus.

A Poem by kenzie evans

To my own standards, you may stretch to touch.
At the end of the day, if you still love me that much,
I'll lower my standards down the perfect,
put a time bomb in my heart in case you hurt it.
If bruising is found, I've got your prints.
If I don't make a sound, please take the hint.
For, before lowering them; my standards were high,
somewhere level with Jesus, remember that guy?
Lately I doubt that most people do,
that's besides the point, I'm settling for you.
