Toronto Sunset.

Toronto Sunset.

A Poem by kenzie evans

to get down to the heart of this
put aside your false bliss.
and focus on the thing's you'll miss:

the winter's ache.
the summer's sting.
the songs you never got to sing;

come crawling back
now one after the other
hoping soon that you'll
discover:

all their warmth they never brought
all the battles never fought.

are drawing in, so bitter sweet
& life is now a one-way street.

Now don't you wish you took the time?
(to savor them, laugh and cry)
this end is not a lullaby,
not an applaud, but a heavy sigh.
