There were cars passing me by,

and songs that never played

and days passing me by,

and boy that never stayed.

 

There were clothes on the line left in the rain

and nothing else to wear.

There were days I wished to leave the pain,

and days I didn't care.

 

There were birds that never flew too high,

and moods that dug too low.

There were better days to come my way,

I just simpy didn't know.

 

There were grains of sand still falling with time,

and thing leaving against my will.

But out of everything, there was you -

standing perfectly still.
