The Wilderness

The Wilderness

A Poem by Jinx

The Wilderness

Our minds are running wild,

could you catch them if you cared?

Would you lay back lazily watching

them whisk you through the night?

Can you hear them whisper?

Wisps of nonsensical nothingness

weaving through the wilderness,

telling you of long forgotten

kingdoms in the forest of your thoughts.

Do you feel them dancing,

a light tap-tapping touching

your skin, soft as a summertime

sunshine shower? Relax,

as they move you down

the valley to reveal

the home you've created.
