The SowerA Poem by JinxThanks to Bill Hicks for this one. This is an older one, but I still like it just for the thought, if anything. The Sower Have you heard of him? Some say he was a prophet, others a problem stirring up the people, exciting and inciting them to question those in power. Cowards, he cried, crawling about the shadows. Down with their towers of terror, no longer will they lord over the masses. He was martyred, labeled a blasphemer, a cancer to society, to order. Go back to your homes you’re safe now. Though he may be gone, his seeds have been sown, taking root in the hearts of the herd, and the nightmares of the hoarders. Cowards’ fear and the faithfuls’ thoughts have made him immortal. © 2011 Jinx |
