Letting go, Getting on

Letting go, Getting on

A Poem by <3

When it's cold you wrap around me like the softest tapestry

retaining heat like water in a glass warmth pouring slowly too my feet

seconds bleed to hours, days, and lifetimes pass away

then you unwind against the hour glasses time forsaken game

When it's warm you take the sunshine and disgrace it with your smile

shining as bright as the farthest star that stills give the earth light

each breath the coolest breeze that causes my blood to freeze

as you gently take the sky and twist the clouds to fit the trees

Even when all hope seems lost and that I've paid the final cost

I know someday we'll meet again in hell or realms or heaven

If you can wait then so can I, keep checking back up at the sky

see if you are looking down, searching for me on the ground

When  it's hard to keep on going and the mountians seem to steep

I just remember you are there waiting at the peak

When the rain won't stop falling I tell myself it's your tears

begging for my return after so many years

It seems to me your everywhere and yet for some reason I miss you

I smell your scent in the evening air, I taste your lips in the morning dew

I still miss you sometimes
