My Moonbeam

My Moonbeam

A Poem by <3

you shine against the dark

like the world is just your brother

no one is quite as distinct

you contrasted every other

human being

your heart is easy to believe in

I'm not the first and I won't be the last

you brought the reason be living

out of the wreckage I call a past

I don't want to sleep tonight

dreams are meant to make me happy

but you lace mind like cyanide

the sweetest little suicide

and every single word still sounds sappy

People dream of finding you

while I dream of getting you back

if love is the antidote

the poison must be the lack

of it

I don't want to wake today

see the sun shine brightly on your face

I don't want to rise today

walk the floors that you once graced

I don't want to live without you

but I guess I'll have too

until the sun goes down
