RecoveryA Poem by Princess Abbie
It's a knife in the chest,
a bullet through the brain. It's a broken record playing, a child running in the rain. It's the pain you feel before you sleep, it's the silence that holds you while you weep. It's the memory of holding a blade to your wrist, It's the fairytale ending with psychotic twists. It's a white room, a single bed, bandaged arms, bandaged head It's the journal you never could fill Tears that always threaten to spill It's acceptance in a teddy bear's hug It's a beautiful release, a beautiful drug It's knowing that it's over, knowing that you're safe Knowing that everything will fall into place. It's recovery, and it's hard It's recovery, and it hurts It's recovery, and it's scary It's recovery, and it's beautiful. © 2012 Princess AbbieFeatured Review
