Passion and I

Passion and I

A Poem by Anum Khan

There is no motivation
We stand at a distance
Brick walls and metal gates
Piled neatly to divide us
Invisible demons surprise us
Sometimes its The Fear
Other times its Angst
Thunder roars; Lightening shrieks
Invincible forces working to separate us
Passion and I - we are distant
Different directions, opposing escalators
Thirsty for new knowlege, new findings
Disappointments run this show folks
Discontentment only illiterates us
Passion and I, we are not one
Something pernicious separates us.
