Waiting for the Words

Waiting for the Words

A Poem by Amanda

Waiting for the Words

Never at a loss for words

When it came to this, she says

The words always flowed…

Faster than could be committed to page

Now she sits waiting…

Waiting for the words to come

Her mind wanders to happier times,

Now not knowing what to do…

Difficulties concentrating,

Too much in the way

She wonders about her love,

Across the ocean vast

Of the secrets that lie with him there

And the undiscovered country

She wonders of all that has transpired…

The wicked games played by others,

In the hopes to decimate

What she had worked so hard to achieve…

Becoming independent, on her own,

Overcoming the addiction,

That tied her down for so long

Trying to remain confident and strong,

Though she shook desperately inside…

Despite everything

Musing, she looks out into the night sky…

Maybe, just maybe, the words will finally come

Enchanting her and the bare page

Thinking to herself, that all will be fine

It has to be…

If I had to describe this poem in one word it would be...Brilliant. The tempo of this piece read aloud made me want to read it again, and again.

"She wonders of all that has transpired
The wicked games played by others,
In the hopes to decimate
What she had worked so hard to achieve"

WOW is all I can say. Another wonderfully written poem my friend...

I am at a lost for words these days. I have written in awhile and I marvel on how you poets continue to crank out wonder pieces of poetry after wonderful pieces. This is a very moving and thought out poem. I love the rythmn that I feel as the story flows like water out of a drain. Wow your talents move me and your poetry with stanzas like this;

Becoming independent, on her own,
Overcoming the addiction,
That tied her down for so long
Trying to remain confident and strong,
Though she shook desperately inside
Despite everything

Is what writing and reading poetry is all about. Thanks for sharing!

This is an absolutely brilliant piece. So many can relate to this and that's what really captures the reader. It is sad but a beautiful work of art I truly love it...

This was such a personal piece of writing!
Very thoughtful and so beautifully penned....

"Enchanting her and the bare page
Thinking to herself, that all will be fine

It has to be" - I can't think of anything better than these words to end up this beautiful piece of writing...They really concluded the entire piece very well and thus I loved these lines the most .....They are very deep!

Such a great piece of writing it is Amanda, like always...I loved this one too :)

A lot interesting thought :) I think many writers can relate to this in different ways. Maybe its the way you write or even the way you express yourself, its always original. Great write :)

Who, as a writer, hasn't been here? I love the subject's optimism given the implosions I've seen with some writers who can't get over the block. Good write.

Ach the yearning of the writer for words and the yearning of a life for love and wellbeing wind around each other like matched spirals. You capture the feeling perfectly and millions wld understand the basic human feelings you tap into here.
