Wicked Game

Wicked Game

A Poem by Amanda

Wicked Game

The tangle of the web

Deception abound

To capture the intangible

Woven into the fabric of a false reality

Sins of the flesh

The endgame of this pursuit…

To sate the ravenous hunger

Sought out by any measure

Manipulating the unwary, the naïve

Giving unintentional platitudes to snare

What is the truth?

Is there any such thing…

Deprivation, ruination,

All set into proposition by the temptation

Unknowingly deceived until it is too late

To the demise of all held dear

Betraying heart and soul

To the degradation of everything…

Once the game is set in motion,

All is swept away in the maelstrom,

Dispelling faith and trust

Leaving a trail of destruction is its wake

What a wicked game you play

To attempt and obtain your way…

This is wickedly hot, Amanda. Wow.

To sate the ravenous hunger
Sought out by any measure
Manipulating the unwary, the naive
Giving unintentional platitudes to snare

What is the truth?
Is there any such thing...

What a question! I could dive into that one and remain there all day. And I might indeed. So full of mystery and intrigue as you leave me spellbound. The photo is awesome as well.

Into the favs darling.

A poem of pure pessimism and death. The reality you've created in this torrential explosion of depression is so artistic.

Well done!

The predator is always hovering around, always waiting for its prey. This piece speaks of reality.

amanda, i love the way you express your words from the heart and this is absolute. and the ideas flow from the depths of your talent, and reveal in many ways what it means to strive to overcome when
pain and life's pressures become too much, you show what it takes to overcome such wicked games people play for the fulfillment of their own selfish desires, you also have a great ability to choose the perfect graphics to accompany your brilliant poetry, the depth comes to life in each beautifully written word

Amanda this series of work is stunning, I hope that all victims of abuse read this. It should be compulsory reading for schoolchildren. Especially boys, who may remember it as they advance towards manhood. Keep into this theme and let the repressed fly out. We will all be the better for reading it.

This is a really great poem...functional with depth. Emotional with the sting of betrayal and foolery. Tremendous write!

You've written what quite a few would write if they could... ' Dispelling faith and trust / Leaving a trail of destruction is its wake ' - there is a place not far from here which is more than the web but A web, and from it come predator creepy crawlies who deserve squashing!

'Sought out by any measure'

Your words are very thought-provoking because while you've written a very succinct piece of poetry, you've vented and accused within terrible hurt.

There are some great turns of phrase in this poem. Esp like ... 'the fabric of a false reality' ... and...
Once the game is set in motion,
All is swept away in the maelstrom,
Dispelling faith and trust
Leaving a trail of destruction is its wake

What a wicked game you play
To attempt and obtain your way

There is a lot of wisdom in those last six lines and I take heed of them.

Wow i thought this was wonderfully penned

You brought the reader in with your words and carried them along with the way you crafted the flow

Splendid write it was so masterfully done.

"Sins of the flesh
The endgame of this pursuit

To sate the ravenous hunger
Sought out by any measure
Manipulating the unwary, the nave
Giving unintentional platitudes to snare

What is the truth?
Is there any such thing"

I found it devilishly cleaver with spellbinding charm... your vent had such sass and flare with a strong statement against those who find human emotions just a game. I sure wouldn't want to cross you.
