The Power of Words continues

A Poem by Amanda
"

...this is a response to the poem, The power of words #1 by my friend Yos. it is a continuation of those thoughts from the other side...to get the proper understanding, please read his poem first. thanks

"

The Power of Words …continues

The power of words

The unexpected evil

Playing the game of deception

Luring the woman to the poison inside

Betraying the thing she wanted most

Piercing the heart of her lover

Shattering the hard earned trust

The power of words

Touched, but untouched

Her steadfast refusals,

Staying true to her love

The words of evil

Come back to haunt the woman

Her naïveté, her unseeing eyes

Never suspects the trap being set

Using the power to seek the truth

The words get used to destroy

Turned back on the woman,

Committed to sin of the darkest night,

Springing the trap…

Bitter the taste of the apple

And the betrayal

The powerful weapon, wielded

With the accuracy of a sword

Cuts deeper than anything else

The evil spreads like a cancer

Darkening the inner light

Leaving her dead inside,

Crumpled with despair

Feeling the remorse of loss

I understood them both perfectly. The power of words is an enormous thing! I could go on forever about them, but I like your current discipline and focus here. The affect of these words as they relate to women.

"Using the power to seek the truth
The words get used to destroy
Turned back on the woman,
Committed to sin of the darkest night,"

Beautifully penned and written. I've come to expect a perfect choice of words, and even some words I never knew existed, from you. You've never disappointed me thus far! Great write!

The power of the pen and all that it entails has done more damage than the spoken word Amanda, what you have here is a venting of toxic love, at least that is how I read it. There is more and more of this today than yesterday...and on it goes.
You have thought this out well because it makes perfect sense. Very anger driven with a score to settle.
Cheers,

indeed the power of words are the most important issue in all of our lives...they make us or break us and I know how...
My papa gets angry soon and says words which he never meant but 'the damage is done.'

This is really very true and thoughtful, words can change this world...they have such a great power which could break a mountain and could either make or break any individual....

"Using the power to seek the truth" , I liked the idea about this part of the poem a lot.....it's always better to use the power of our words to unveil the truth!

Very well penned Amanda, like always :)

Words can be a powerful weapon... those who use it directly to degrade others and then those who lie to get what they want. Very powerful poem, you used your words wisely and for a good cause.

Words can kill... kill feelings, emotions.. and that's what you're saying here... Women want gentleness and truth, they need it, it's like the air we breathe.

'With the accuracy of a sword / Cuts deeper than anything else / The evil spreads like a cancer / Darkening the inner light / Leaving her dead inside,' --- you say that so powerfully and in it's own way, beautifully.

Why do people hurt with words, speaking or writing them.. does it make them feel good, does it make them feel powerful.? But there's another power: the power of words in your writing, expressing women's feelings and distress is unmatchable.

Thank you for sharing.

i agree. the tongue is a fatal weapon, stinging like acid, words that cut deeper than any knife on earth. a dark & despairing write. i love the lines "Bitter the taste of the apple And the betrayal". brutally honest and intensely powerful. great write.

The title fascinates me...what is the power of words? how does it work? what can it do? how do I get it? can I get it? is it wise to have it? can it really be poisonous? clearly yes. The link between certain words and the emotional responses they cause says it all.

Yes this work really shows the demonic intent of the male fornicator. Contasted with the acute vulnerabilty of women. I have written a savage and brutal attack on such men in my poem Offal. Too brutal for you to read. Often I am ashamed of my gender. More particularly, in my life, ashamed of myself. This poem cuts to the quick. Ron

The power of words always fascinated me... This poem perfectly displays how much they really mean and in general, what they can really do. Great write :)

amanda, this title is exactly what defines your passionate, beautiful poem flowing straight from the
heart, and that also being the continuation from the power of words #1......the way #1 opens the idea,
this aspect is a perfect lead through the opening, definitite feelings of mistrust brokenheart
and coming to terms with awareness, you did a stunning job, keep up the great work
