Song of Peace

Song of Peace

A Poem by Amanda

On the wings of a butterfly,

In the soft whisper of the breeze

Through the trees,

Silently passive,

It can only be heard

By the receptive soul

Wandering haphazardly,

But not without purpose,

Seeking out those that will listen

With open mind and heart,

Its purity and pristine nature

Causes it to go unheard

In this world of conflicts and wars,

Many do not heed its song

Unwillingly predisposed,

Going about their own agendas

In destruction, in lives lost,

Hopelessly misplaced

It is the sweet song of peace

Amen to that!

What a wonderfully written and sincere piece of writing wrapped in a great poem.

'On the wings of a butterfly, / In the soft whisper of the breeze / Through the trees, / Silently passive, /
It can only be heard / By the receptive soul '

.. those words are an inspiration.

Thank you so much for sharing.

Fantastic, inspirational, beautiful. Just a fewe of the words that come to mind. Unfortunately not all souls are receptive to this melody, hence the chaos in our world. Perhaps one day people will stop screaming and start dancing to this song of peace. Bravo.

Marvellous stuff. I think you are so right. The voice of peace is just as you describe it...pure and pristine...and too often unnoticed.

The trouble is that assertive males are loud, aggressive, power hungry...anything that stops them beating rival males is eaten by them. To such men all that matters is winning. Such men work on instincts, with fear a strong driver. How can the soft voice of peace defuse them?

Even if a he man is willing to listen. He my still also fear the he man who does not listen and who may eat him.

This is absolutly correct when it comes to the song of peace, I know it, and I want everyone to know it, but this poem says the words that i have from my heart, its so tastefully done! I love it!

And the trumpets play in triumph for your soulful and inspirational write. Your serenade to the world already puts peace in my heart.

Dear Amanda!
Yes, we must be ever vigilent and aware of our surroundings to hear that which will bring peace and healing to our hurting world!!
Well written, with good thought!
