Very appropriate observation! I completely agree and it sucks thinking about it
but that's love! The original, perpetual, double edged sword! Catch 22 at it's finest! I could go on
about my sworn enemy, but I won't. You've said enough with this completely honest piece!
"All the happiness in the world
On the other, you have
The heartache and pain
No matter what anyone says,
There is no way to get
The better side without the other"
A very real observation and truth of love in friendship and in love both. t seems that we can have the best of the worl dwe must always have the double edge sword or it is not real. I do believe that is how it is handled
and dealt that matters upon building a strong fortress in the heart and mind all relationships take time to grow as a garden does but you will harvest in the bounty of the heart and in this garden there is always the tomato worm and assorted bugs but they can be dealt with to produce the bounty we seek.
I really liked these lines:
Once it strikes your heart,
It is worse when you want to solve what you feel. So the person you are dating doesn't like having questions asked, and it turns to the worst, and you loose all progress with the one you felt you could be with forever. The fear the sword brought has stabbed both parties, now you live with both regret for getting upset, and sorrow knowing you can't make it up, she doesn't want to.
So true....such a realistic look at love, along with the good there is hardship and pain. It's the good that makes it all worth while though..Good write :)
"Once it strikes your heart,
With the elation of joyful abandon,
The darker side hides in the shadows,
Lurking like a wraith~"
The truth behind these words is frightening. I have ventured into the shadows where this wraith hides and have found it to be unforgiving and without compassion. This piece really hit close to home my friend. A beautiful write indeed.
How very true. You presented us all with how love can be beautiful and beautifully disasterous. This was a splendid read.
"With the elation of joyful abandon,
The darker side hides in the shadows,
Lurking like a wraith" These were my favorite lines in the piece. Very wonderfully crafted.
I totally agree with you Amanda about the idea of love which you have portrayed in your poem..Love is indeed like a double edged sword ! We will experience every kind of happiness and joy only until when we are at its one side but sooner or later we all face that other side of it, having an entirely opposite face of love.
There is a saying here that love is not always about happiness and passion but sacrifice, sorrow and suffering are also a part of love...
"By one that has been scored,
Pierced deeply by both sides" - This line really concluded the entire idea very well...
A great plot to write upon! Thanks for sharing it.....Brilliant piece of writing it is :)
