For What May Have Been

For What May Have Been

A Poem by Amanda
"

...a sad musing...

"

I go through the routine

Of my every day life,

Showing a stoic face

While inside I cry bitter tears…

My heart breaks

Into a million pieces

A host of questions

Cloud my subconscious mind…

Some answered, most a mystery…

Was it real or just a dream?

Am I not worthy of the love

That you could bestow upon me?

Or am I one in a line

Of broken hearts that litter

The vast scenery of a past life…

My weary mind wonders…

All I ever wanted was the security

That you would give to my existence,

The kind whisper of your heart,

The gentleness of your soul…

Now I am left with my heart

Tattered and torn,

My soul yearning

For what may have been…

I can so relate to this piece, after a broken heart you try using a routine everyday thinking it is the way to keep yourself occupied... and all those question in your mind of what went wrong and why you didn't see it coming then even seeing clues you missed before... very nice expression of the sorrow and confusion of a broken heart.

Amazing write for what has happened for many along our journey.
Trying not to feel that pain that leads to self doubt...
Brought back memories-with this piece.

Oh! This is so beautifully sad, I simply loved the way you have narrated it!

Though I loved the entire piece, but these lines are my personal favorite -

"Or am I one in a line
Of broken hearts that litter
The vast scenery of a past life
My weary mind wonders" - This is really so sad and heart wrenching!

I can really relate myself to it, very well written!

this is well written and expressed and really captures portrait sorrow and and fleeting love, desires as a core reflection of understanding, beautifully surrendered.

'The kind whisper of your heart' is a lovely line, and just what we all want in our lives.

I try not to dwell on the what might have been
I'm more interested in the now. I see no point in dwelling in the past
Nicely written

Forcing things like routines turn into a bad habit you really need to break sometimes. This piece has many strong points, but the strongest goes to the obvious. It's so hard to live a routine life. Repetitiveness drives me insane as I'm sure it does others. Great write here :) thanks for the read!

Really wonderful write. the only thing bad i can say has nothing to do with the piece itself. The font makes it hard to read. I found that I had to go back and re-read a word or two cause the font made it difficult.
Other than that. This piece is so relatable to me. Forced to live with a normal routine as you deal with heartbreak. Very well written =D

Amanda, What an idiot this person must have been to have rejected a talent like you. He wasn't worth the cast out hair from your hairbrush. It is so nice to be your friend. Bet you've done your share of heart breaking too! Ron
