I Will Be Your Shelter

I Will Be Your Shelter

A Poem by Amanda

I will be your shelter

Here in my arms

You can rest

Put your mind at ease

Calm your heart and soul.

Long has been your journey

To seek what is out in the world

Weary from your travels

Entrust me with your thoughts

Tell me of all you have seen.

Speak to me of what troubles you

Let me relieve you of the pain

Caused by others

Here in the comfort of my arms

You can be free of it all.

I will envelop you in my love

Wrapping you comfortably in

The warmth and security

That you have searched for

On your travels of the world.

I will be your shelter

Come to me….

Magnificent. I wish there were someone in my life that felt this way. The passion and conviction behind these words makes the desire to aid another tangible. I can only hope that before I pass, I will find one who will be my shelter. Bravo.

I am running to your arms. Sounds like a safe place for me! I enjoyed this piece. Very soothing. What was on your heart when you penned these lines;
I will envelop you in my love
Wrapping you comfortably in
The warmth and security
That you have searched for
On your travels of the world.
These lines says you can always come back home as if you are speaking to a child or lover who lost their way for awhile. Nice Nice Nice!

It reads to me, like a lover who lets her love seek out the fields of green on the other side of the fence...knowing all the while he would be back once he found out his love was with you all the time. Without spite, or any " I told you so's" you gently took him back with grace. Beautiful. Rain..

This is a very nice piece, I actually found it quite comforting as I read it. Personally, I liked the font and found it easy to read. I like how this speaks of love and comfort without expecting anything more. The narrator is not (or doesn't seem to be) expecting the recipient to love the him or her back, they are simply offering shelter to anyone who needs it. A very sweet, powerful piece. Keep it up!

I will have to say I really enjoyed this writing... You put a lot of thought into it. If I could say one thing, it was a little hard to read because of the font style... But a wonderful piece.

And so, you wrote this while thinking about someone special to you? I think it is good because it doesn't go too far. Comforted by this poem, it is about coming home to another, offering and surrendering at the same time. The connection is given by the narrator of the poem. Very nice tone to it, and it is also interesting to read. thanks......... raining

Such a peaceful poem, warm and welcoming. This is really calm and yet at the same time powerful and loving at the same time. Almost like unconditional love. Its homely and a beautiful sanctuary. A very nice write, very different to your other poems, shows how much skill you have as a writer to create very different pieces!

I agree with the others Amanda, this is beautifully written. Knowing someone is there to provide that
warmth and security from the harsh storms of life. Someone who makes the pain more tolerable.
Love is indeed what it's all about. Heartfelt, my dear one.

ps. One small thing : I think my glasses are failing me cause the print was a little blurry...lol.

This is what life is ! In my mind anyway. Amidst all that is wrong -- all of the heartache and suffering -- there is LOVE. And this is how it speaks... just like this.

Beautiful!!!!
