For Those We Leave Behind.....

Don’t think that we are gone forever

Though we are going away

Think of it as we are moving on,

Going to a better place…

A new life, a new beginning

 

Though it may sadden you

That we have gone

We haven’t really left

For you will always have a place

In our hearts and in our minds,

You will always be there

 

When you think of us,

Think of the memories that we shared,

Of the times we were together

And smile, don’t cry

For we will always be with you

How sad but a great tribute to someone you cared about. It is true that people never really leave us, because our own memory of them keeps them with us.

Your poem reminds me of a line from an old Nat King Cole song " Smile though your heart is breaking".
