Kiss on the Wind

Kiss on the Wind

A Poem by Amanda

Under the same sky

Under the cover of darkness

Lies the promise

Of things to be fulfilled...

A kiss on the wind

Was sent by someone special

It flutters carelessly on the vast breeze

Will it get to its intended target?

Through time and space

The distance it travels

Does it reach its anticipated destination?

It is too early to tell for it still floats...

Onward it goes, hanging in midair

Moving like the leaf in a current

Precariously rising and falling

Roaming over great regions

As it finally arrives to its predetermined spot

The kiss hesitates, seeking its mark

Once finding the intended, it settles

A petal soft caress upon the lips, lingering

Who had bestowed such a gift of love?

And sent it on its way

Surprised, the intended looks up

At the night sky and wonders why...

Amanda, magnificent words and a picture perfect description of love being sought after. sometimes it is best not to question the why of it all, just let it happen, if it is meant to be it will flourish, if not it will be short lived. Very nice.

Oh I love this! When I was young someone told me if you take a piece of your hair, whisper a name on it and blow it in that direction they would dream of you. I'm sure it never worked, but you just reminded me of it with this piece so I had to tell! It was a great little journey that kiss flying high up above....I was wondering if it was going to hit the mark....and when it did....and they could only look up and wonder...I thought, now THAT's priceless. Great job!!!!

How lovely, I love the journey of the kiss and all the great images you conjure with your words but the best part is that last stanza. A mysterious kiss on the breeze, delicious.

Bloody hell, a lovely job! I could see the fluttering thing quite clearly. At first, i thought of monarch butterflies, but then the kiss became its own thing, not a butterfly. I like the way you play with the kiss 'pecariously rising and falling' and 'the kiss hesitates'. A delightful image. I wonder if there are hosts of lost kisses floating around. You know the ones that missed their marks! THE LIPLESS KISSES OF LOVE LOST. Dare I suggest there may be more poems for you to do along that theme? Two kisses meet on their way, become distracted, kiss...fall in love, but have to go on their way... Maybe other kisses run off with kisses intended for others. Suddenly their is a chaos of kisses flying all around. The theme offers endless possibilities. Everyone loves a kiss right?

awe.. I literally "awed" out loud at the ending.
The idea of someone sending kisses out rings true to my soul because I really do that from my heart to anothers.

Anyhow you took us on the voyage of the kiss. I became that kiss roaming to find my traget. I think that is what makes this piece so special most people, myself included, would probably focuss on kisser and the kissiee (yeah i just created a few words) lol., but you didn't you focussed on the kiss...

Very nice... I felt it...

My heart is smiling! That's how these words make me feel. My mind imagines the kiss on the wind. My thoughts trace its journey. What lovely thoughts you place down like colorful tiles inside us - your readers. I am completely grateful for this. Merci! x
