Kiss on the Wind

Under the same sky

Under the cover of darkness

Lies the promise

Of things to be fulfilled...

 

A kiss on the wind

Was sent by someone special

It flutters carelessly on the vast breeze

Will it get to its intended target?

 

Through time and space

The distance it travels

Does it reach its anticipated destination?

It is too early to tell for it still floats...

 

Onward it goes, hanging in midair

Moving like the leaf in a current

Precariously rising and falling

Roaming over great regions

 

As it finally arrives to its predetermined spot

The kiss hesitates, seeking its mark

Once finding the intended, it settles

A petal soft caress upon the lips, lingering

 

Who had bestowed such a gift of love?

And sent it on its way

Surprised, the intended looks up

At the night sky and wonders why...

on a cliff-overlooking the ocean, there is a vibrant sense to life in your words flowing from sensuous
depths takening the reader to a place where the winds kiss the heart when brushing against the skin

I tell you this poem is like manna in the wilderness...so many will write about a kiss and describe, wetness, tongues...all the graphic aspects of kissing - which are great, but seldom work well in poetry when described that way unless the poet is really a master at what they're doing. You instead give the sense of a kiss, the bliss of it and you bring in such wonderful aspects of nature to carry your ideas across. But there is also something you bring to this that many forget when describing a kiss and that is intimacy.

One tiny typo - As it finally arrives to it predetermined spot - its

no biggie, but it threw me a for s second...excellent write nonetheless and I look forward to reading more of your work :)
