A Lost Home

A Lost Home

A Poem by Alexis

This is for the homeless, who

Shiver from a frozen heart;

This is for the homeless, who

Starve for warmth.

This is for the homeless, whose

Shelter is barren, whose

Mind is lost, whose

Humanity is lost.

This is for the souls who yearn for belonging:

Not a suburban home with an emerald lawn,

Not a fast car filled with lust,

Not a big tree made of money.

This is for those who “live”

Without a soul.

This is for those who “live”

Without a home.

This is beautiful. As I read this a shiver shot down my spine, it made me feel the pain of each and every lost soul you were writing about.
