4th of July

4th of July

A Poem by Gonce

I watched some fireworks on
the fourth of july,
the most patriotic way to celebrate
such a day.
I watched the explosions,
heard the booms,
enjoyed the light show in the
skys.
Inside though, I was thinking,
about the bigger, less beautiful,
less colorful explosions accuring
across the globe.
Instead of ooo's and ahhh's,
screams and pleas and
HOO-HA!'s from a target well hit.
I started shaking, I wanted to cry,
thinking of this celebration of past deaths
with smaller weapons of death.
Happy Fourth of July from a complete
cynic.
Course that could be why
no
one
likes
me.
