This is a really good poem, it's nice and I can relate to this, we never can forget our first love :)

It's been nearly 10 years since I met my first love. Probably at least 5 since I've spoken with her in any earnest. And in case you were wondering, you are absolutely correct in every one of these claims. Although it is not exclusive to one's first love--it goes just as well for every one after that.

However, do not think this is a bad thing. It would sadden me deeply to forget any of them.

My one recommendation would be to get rid of the break in the first two lines there, where you put the word "try" in the second line. It sets up a rhythm that the rest of the poem doesn't really keep, and it'd be easier to just move that word up a line than to break the rest up accordingly. :)

Awww. It reminds me of my first love. It's kind of obsessive I suppose at how the ways I felt and the things I have always remembered. Your poem captured it so well. :)

I think it's off a movie called How To Deal, but there was that line, "You never forget your first love," so true, the heart remembers even as the mind forgets names and dates and events. Your heart will always know them from anyone in a crowd.
