I wish

I wish

A Poem by Zero

I WISH

Our worlds would collide.

From mantle to core, crash into the other

And shatter the oppressive tedium

Of this make-believe platonic orbit.

I wish you could open your ears

To the sound of my sweet voice.

Let it enter the depths of your tired soul

And caress you to the serenity of sleep.

I wish you would take my hand

Through this torrid journey we call life

And I can show you the splendors of nature,

Bathe you in starlight on your favorite spot.

I wish I could capture

The simple beauty of your smile -

The harbinger of a thousand suns

After a cold winter’s night.

I wish you would understand

What I suffer to cage this longing

In the suffocating spaces between my words

As the days grow into years of unrest.

I wish I could tell you that I love you

Bottle that short moment when time would stop

And the whole universe would watch

As our lips touch for that first gentle kiss

I wish I could have earlier fathomed

The enigma in your ghostly eyes

Silently screaming the piercing truth

I so forced myself to ignore

That these wishes are just mine,

Not yours.

About
Hi. I began writing a few years ago. Tragedy struck my young life, so I decided to express my pent-up anger, rage, hatred, regret, etc. through words. Now, I'm happy and past that state. So, I try .. more..
