Vinegar for his lips

Vinegar for his lips

A Poem by agalata15

It's just one more thing to burden my already broken back

One more thing lost I'm trying to be thankful for

It's slipping like water through cracked hands

And I've been sent here with a purpose
Set before he started the eternal clock
To shoulder the strains of
every weary aching heart

He asked me for water and I only had vinegar
A few drops to burn his already stinging lips
And I told him I'm sorry
I did it for a few pieces of silver

I shouldered the burden
So you can hang your
Broken bleeding head

I've been locked out
heavens gates sealed shut
So you could have your salvation close

As I take my eternal position
In the outer dark
I hope that you are warm
Warm held and loved

Loved
Loved
Yea

Love

You see the faces
Of everyone you've lost
In the backseat
and you fear them

The living and the dead
And your envy
Is made of the pieces
Of everything you've been taught
To withhold to withstand

You tidal wave
You Pouring onslaught
Of Gods retribution
Spewed out of the wells of the earth
Black water meant to wipe clean
All that you've soiled

You're taking on debts
You can never hope to repay
Relay this one last message
We're parting and you can't know
Everything that I once
Tried to sow

I'm standing in the fields
That are burning
The crops we raised for a future
Unattainable blacken
Before my eyes

My particles rearrange
Unrecognizable
