while I fell

while I fell

A Poem by agalata15

I fell through fire, miles and miles of it

And while I fell I witnessed countless miracles

Obscure faces glimpsed in pulsing light

A Hidden countenance in the flames

Tormented me with angelic hopes

That the burning would cease

And I’d be given water to drink

One blessed drop at a time

Beings walked in the furnace

Beside me

And kept my skin from burning

Blackening

Kept me whole

To be fed to lions

In one piece

Beautifully written. Makes me want to know you personally and talk about what you're seeing.
