My words are simple

My words are simple

A Poem by Alisa

My words are simple.

I use only the alphabet you and I know best

My gaze is slow

My thoughts meant to provoke

In me, in you, in neither of us

I’m no artist

Definitely not a poet

Do you have silly thoughts?

These are mine.

Am I pretty?

Do I fall down your throat as smoothly as tea and honey do?

Don’t think too much about it.

Silk sheets or something

Sunsets

Water in a bathtub

Ice cubes against skin;

They melt, and we don’t budge.

What the heck are words for anyway

My message, what is my message

A bouquet of lilacs

Dark, melted chocolate

Love,

I always come back to love

What is my message?
