a dead poets pocket

a dead poets pocket

A Poem by aftervision

if this was true

what would happen

to the heart of -- you

-------------------

in a dead poets pocket

the following is found

a poem

a ring

a picture of a woman in her night gown

the ring for the promise

that he made to her

the picture to remind him

of her physical beauty

a poem displaying his heart

and the poem read:

if this is found

before face to face i can say

please tell _________

what my heart has to say

tell her

that i loved her

everytime that i wrote

tell her

that i loved

everytime that she wrote

i hoped to one day meet her

but guess that wasn't in the stars

that i believed with all my heart

that she could heal my scars

tell her

that i loved her without ever touching her skin

and if i had the years back

i would do it all again

I hear what you say, and know what you mean. reach thru wires and never let go, cause this is a place that I have been.

Wow... RS Wilder picked the perfect description. "Bittersweet". Excellent write. I think this one is going to make it into my faves.

This poem - reminds me of a pen pal I had once...no longer a pen pal but man...it's bitter sweet and makes my mind plague me with memory.
Lovely.

Good write as well... This peace is love lost as the other I just read was more of a of a found love and plead for peace. I dig quite a bit, reminds me of poetry from the 40's like Housman.
