what i won't say

what i won't say

A Poem by aftervision

What I won’t say

This is the last night

That I will pretend not to love you

This is the last night

That I will pretend not to be half of two

You told me that your love was mine

And that we deserved to be as one

But there was something that you had to do

In order for us to live a life of fun

Well my heart has waited

As long as a heart can

The time as come

For us to be woman and man

I give my all to you

Each and every day

And as long as we have been together

I think that I deserve to have something to say

You love me

But can’t seem to get rid of another

Why should you be allowed

To have a home and a lover

You have it all

While I share and empty bed

I see us together

But it’s only in my head

So this last night that I will give to you

And I will do so without warning

Either give me you

Or know that I’ll be going

If this night

Somehow you feel what I won’t say

Than you can always change my tomorrow

And not let this be our last day

complicated ultimatums. it reminds us of the roles we play in every relationship we have, balancing our needs against those of others. well done.
