truck stop

truck stop

A Poem by aftervision
"

when the heart dails

"

                          Truck Stop

You ran

But, you could never hide

From love

And the burning deep inside

You took

And you never thought

That with all your running

You’d never get caught

You called

And had nothing to say

But nothing

Was all that I needed that day

You never spoke

And then you put the phone down

I could hear

The trucks in the background

You called me

It was like calling yourself

I know that it’s hard

To put love up and leave it on a shelf

Love is love

No matter how far

I’ll always love you

No matter where you are

I really like this, especially the last stanza. Love never goes away no matter how far off the person maybe. Its always there. Well written.

A very beautiful poem! Sometimes, you feel like you know it is some loved one calling by the sound of the ring or the breathing at the other end or even the sound in the background. Others will tell you that you can't be sure, but you know.
