blue moon

blue moon

A Story by aftervision

Blue moon

I lived my life

The best that I know how

I preformed for myself

Sometimes worthy of a standing ovation

Sometimes just a bow

I forgot most of my past

At least with my mind

So I called on the moon

To see if she could recall the times

Times that I loved and lost

And lost in love

Times that I thought that it was I

But later found that my blessings came from above

Moon you were there each and every night

Shining down on me and my life

You have met all of my past

You have shined on my kids and my wife

It seemed that you hid yourself whenever I was doing wrong

As if you refused to shine your light on me

Other times I used you to have my way

During the nights that you provided light for others to see

Blue moon, I call on you tonight

Because a numb heart can’t seem to remember why

All of the sudden it has pain

Or why my eyes cry

The moon sees all.. I really like this melancholy talk with the moon.
Sad and bare as in baring one's soul. Very well written.
