can you understand me

can you understand me

A Poem by aftervision
"

life

"

i lost the subject

lost the things that i wanted to say

tried to find it

but it had already gone away

can you feel me

can you lay down with my pen

and when the morning comes

still be my friend

i write the pain

twice more than one heart should see

i write

the soul of me

drink my smoke

get high off my drunk

wash in my tub

leave with my funk

you can't love me

without giving up a piece of yourself

you can't love me

and worry about what's left

if you love me

like you say that you do

then tell me

for love -- what you are willing to do

not what i want

but what needs to be done

tell me how you want love to be

after all is said and done

i am who i am

never tried to be more

stop only

if i am what you have been searching for

my heart can't take

another round of just feelings

i have no skin left

for another round of just peelings

if you are going to love me

come and do just that

and i will be anew

because that's where my heart is at

can you understand me

i have no time left for games

i would rather do without

if without -- is why you came

Excellent work. The flow and the feeling was very good. There's an attitude to this poem that kept me interested the whole time. Great work.
