dirt

dirt

A Poem by aftervision
"

real life pain

"

Dirt

You called me dirt

So high and away from me

You see me as weak

Tired and sometimes lazy

Your coolness

Rejects my heat " my touch

You agree to love

Just not telling me " how much

I held you up

Until you got control of your own feet

Stood behind

As you watched out for me and what I see

Willed my head

To work beneath my dreams

Helped build up

Your half of our team

You stood on me

And reached beyond your goal

Cooked " outdoors

With no heat for the coals

You called me “dirt”

After blossoming through my soil

You called me “dirt”

After blossoming through my soil

after vision

So much I could say about this piece, because it speaks of a pain I've felt before. "You call me dirt after blossoming through my soil." That line right there was it for me. It needed to be said twice. Nice work.
