USA Poem by Black InkA poem I wrote for my school's "Do The Write Thing"
They pushed and they shoved,
But we kept silent They said things we wouldn't dare repeat, But stayed nonviolent Later on it builds up inside To the point where we almost committed scuicide We're always ignored. Like diamonds in the rough, never to be seen The pressure of friends never gave us the chance to be ourselves At home we tried to be the perfect kid/sibling We said everything was okay But now we're tired of the okay's We have so much more to say!...Just give us the time Our parents act as if they don't see us anymore The pain they've caused us bangs heavily on our chest like it's a door Now we're laying cold and numb on the floor We just can't take it,it's getting real tough The pain gets too strong We know we won't be around that long And everyone keeps saying to just hold on But it's harder than you'll ever know
