ONLY A MOTHER

ONLY A MOTHER

A Poem by afra

Only a mother knows what's going on inside
Even when everyone else leaves you
She always stays by your side

Only a mother can see those unseen tears
That didn't even flow from your eyes
Only a mother's hug can help you get by your fears

Only a mother can understand how you feel
And she loves you for who you are
Only a mother love is pure and real

Only a mother can sacrifice her life for you
And she loves you more then anyone else does
So why should you not care for her and love her back too?

I wish i could agree and say the same things as this lovely poem can, but i cant. Sometimes a mother neglects and abandons their child. But to those mothers who i see interact with their children, i greatly admire them. This poem expresses some of what i've seen, its heartfelt and beautiful. nice job! :)

This has me tearing up a little bit, really beautiful. Well done, it's great!

Beautiful poem, but the flow could be improved... And there is at least one typo that I can see...And 'only a mothers love is unconditional' all love is pure/real. And she loves you more than anyone else DOES...[if your trying to get that last bit to rhyme, it's probably best to forget about it, it's not essential anyway]. Sorry, had more to say than I originally thought. I like the topic, I like the idea, but it does need a little bit work...
Also, just one last thing, there does seem to be a lack of imagery..This can work sometimes [and I'm not saying it doesn't here] but personally I prefer poetry that forces the reader to imagine the scenes, rather than just spelling it out.
Just my opinion, and as always with writing it depends what you're going for as an author. Look forward to more.

Your words are true in the poem. A mother's love is forever. I like the question at the ending of the poem. Thank you for the outstanding poem.

Simply beautiful. I only see one small grammatical error in the third stanza, second line, fro should be for maybe? Other than that, I love it. True words written of a loving mother.
