ONLY A MOTHER

ONLY A MOTHER

A Poem by afra

Only a mother knows what's going on inside
Even when everyone else leaves you
She always stays by your side

Only a mother can see those unseen tears
That didn't even flow from your eyes
Only a mother's hug can help you get by your fears

Only a mother can understand how you feel
And she loves you for who you are
Only a mother love is pure and real

Only a mother can sacrifice her life for you
And she loves you more then anyone else does
So why should you not care for her and love her back too?

I wish i could agree and say the same things as this lovely poem can, but i cant. Sometimes a mother neglects and abandons their child. But to those mothers who i see interact with their children, i greatly admire them. This poem expresses some of what i've seen, its heartfelt and beautiful. nice job! :)

Indeed. Its tough being a parent. Good to remember the sacrifice my mother has made for me. But don't forget the dads too! I'd sacrifice myself to save my child if I had too.

Touching and deep in its simplicity, great message and of course, great job =D

I almost feel from this that you are idealizing "a mother" and what you think she "should" be. The last line leads me this way by posing the question. It's just my take, but the question almost begs the answer of "why not". This probably sounds way off, but something just made me wonder. If taken at face value it is a praise of a job well done. You've had a lot of reviews and I echo. :)

This was very sweet, and sometimes very true! The writing in itself was very good and I only noticed a few errors. Very, very great! The message itself was a very tender one, but not always truthful for some mothers. :/

No human Love is as pure and as forgiving as that of a mother for her child..although being human, some mothers tend to falter...nevertheless this piece reminds us of the undying love a mother has in very simple yet deep and thoughtful words! thank you for sharing! well done

thank you
I love that poem. It really reflects the mothers of the world. I mean I never say when I'm at my worse but my mom is always their able to tell and help me a d when she'snot their I'm wishing she was bc she's mom. Anyways well done on reflecting that of a mom all she is worth to us and not only mother's day should we show the love but, everyday to remind her we love her and we always will and thank-you for all you've done.
