Hazel

Hazel

A Poem by Ashleigh Chantalle

Stars of hazel fly across the night sky,
And beauty fills the eyes
Of an unsuspecting dreamer.
She sits,
Staring at a skewed reflection,
Waiting for the quiet storm to pass.
Stars of hazel bring light
To her cold, dark world,
And dry up the tears
That have drenched the streets,
And drowned her lingering thoughts.
She stares at the stars,
Her soul illuminated by
Blue, gray, green;
Each color a new face,
Each purer than the last,
Each bringing her closer to the dream
She so desires.
Stars of hazel bring
Tears to her eyes,
Blush to her cheeks,
A smile to her lips,
And she knows
She is home.

I think this can also be interpreted in a different way. I imagined the stars of hazel being the eyes of someone she was staring into and calling her 'home'. It's a nice poem. =)
