time

time

A Poem by rhea
"

looking back at my best-friend of fifteen years I realised how cruel time was and wrote this as a result.

"

Two little girls

sitting together
Laughing and joking

about something or the other

Small and innocent

no worry or fear

No sadness could bring

any true tears

Two grown teens

talking away.
Not caring about

what anyone else says.

Since I remember

We've been together.
Soul sister,

friends forever.

Growing up together,

sharing all I know.
Walking and talking,

where did all of it go.

When did time change

when did we grow so old.
Did life strip us

from our innocence so soon?

Did time steal you away.

Did circumstances change?
Did I grow so far

I forgot to ask about your day?

I didn't  understand you,

not how far you've come.
For the little girl with the bob cut

to the grown woman you've become.

Yes time has passed

It has been many moons
We're not kids anymore

for time is cruel.

But you're still you

and I'm still me.
Our hearts are still

the kids we used to be.

No matter how far

or how busy life becomes
All it takes is a word

for me to come at once

Always your sister

always your friend.
I will always be here

even to the end

thanks it took me back to the good old days with RUN D.M.C & Grandmaster Flash with Mellie Mel. Times when old school was in progress some how we lost touch with that vibe. We need to bring thoughts like that in a form of raps and poetry. Society is drifting into a cesspool of their new swing. See I like Fetty Wap but some people don't understand them. You can't please everyone. Thanks for the compliment I really appreciate it from the heart... Poet Mario William Vitale 8/19/17

It is pretty nice. And yes, I can relate, in a way.

I can relate to this on so many levels. I am going to have my best friend read this. Her and I have been friends since 6th grade and we are now getting into our late 20's.
