Lonely

Lonely

A Poem by Afayah

I couldn’t wait to get rid of you

To get you out of my face

And, more so, out of my mind

To see you walk away with head down

And sad eyes filled with tears

I wanted you to look back

So you could see my grin

Of jubilation…

Aaahhh! I can breathe!

You’re finally gone…

But, the truth is, I miss you.

I love this piece a lot, I can relate to the feeling of wanting someone gone but secretly missing their presence and love, even though one may refuse to admit those feelings.
