Who visits me at night

To take me to a realm,

Surreal and mesmerizing

Dark and, yet, so welcoming

 

Where you make me

Into the woman I wish to become

And as you come close enough

To complete my fantasy

You shatter everything by disappearing

 

I jump out of my sleep in despair

To see that no one is really there

But wrinkles left in my sheets

And an open window suggests

That maybe my imagination

Wasn’t getting the better part of me
