Chapter I - Queen

Chapter I - Queen

A Chapter by Blue

Once there was a baby of noble birth,

Destined to rule over creatures

Of a world foreign to mortals

It has been prophesied by centuries-old seers

That she is the sole hope

Of the kingdom almost ruined

By greed-infested Queen.

She’s the twin sibling of the valiant King,

much inferior in comparison to him,

though first arrived from Mother’s womb.

By blood they were most divine,

Unequalled by all celestial beings combined,

Revered and feared.

But no throne is ruled by two.

Homeland would have been rightfully hers

Had she been Male.

Despising injustice,

She withdrew from Homeland,

The world of wonder and wisdom

And encompassing beauty.

She dwelt in the Abyss of her creation

Where solitude is a solace.

Because of lengthy absence of contact

With truth and bliss,

Her heart decayed

Until Goodness abandoned her.

She went out once in mastered disguise

And wandered around the halls of her birthplace.

But Homeland no longer exuded a healthy atmosphere.

Celestial Creatures wore mournful robes,

And from what she had heard,

King, her twin brother,

Had set off to Unknown

Where semi-immortals of their kind

Lose themselves after their lifetime.

No injury can ever cause their death

But there is Power that holds their fate

And takes Life if It so desires.

No trace of grief dawned on Queen

‘cause her brother’s Departure was her long-awaited triumph.

Finally, Homeland was hers!

Wow, look at you, delving into fantasy! I love it, it flows forward like a fairy tale without all the crazy background data that many of us fantasy writers (myself certainly included) put into fantasy stories. I love the form of verse you use and the simplicity of it and how easy and smooth it reads.

One thing: ' By greed-infested Queen' should be 'By a greed-infested Queen', I think. I'm extremely impressed with this tale, Blue!

I like the fantasy twist you have here, and having a book that is full of poems.
