A Writer's Prayer

A Writer's Prayer

A Poem by Blue
"

Amen.

"
What shall I write, my muse?
What kind of ink abuse
shall I unto this paper bleed?
Dare write my fearless need?

What tale shall I expose
in poetry or prose,
scattered verses on a page,
language of my sanity in rage.

Guide my pen with fluid strokes.
Postpone your playful pranks and jokes.
Grant me an experienced hand
to tailor thoughts at your command.

"playful pranks and jokes" might refer to the annoyances writers often encounter. Writer's block for example.

I am a firm believer in some external entity which poets can employ to influence our writing. Well done.

You need not worry about your hand not being guided, because you definitely are on the right track! I loved the rhyming. Not very easy to pull off. Haven't read anything for you in a long time. Great job.

i could see Tennyson writing this, and smiling all the way---

you capture the muse's games so well...she does that to us...

i loved revisiting this poem.
