Come Back, Come Home

Come Back, Come Home

A Poem by Blue
"

to a prodigal child

"
You've been astray, out in the wild
Pursuer of pleasure, a prodigal child
Now wisdom earned at decade's cost
Yet still in fear of moments lost.

"Come  back, come home...
you do not have to be alone."
With gnawing guilt, with troubled heart
From world's allures you now depart
Set off at once to that one place
With doubting hope in quest of grace.

"Come back, come home...
Where love abounds you've never known."
From miles afar, a distant view
You see your father waiting for you
And soon your soul's stained with regret
For love withheld, for trust unmet.

"Come back, come home...
Share the glory of my throne."
Finally seeing you,  he breaks into run
Joy's on his face at the return of his son
Forgotten faults, forgiven sin
It matters not where you have been.

"Come back, come home...
You've always been my precious own."

Makes me think of the parable of the prodigal son in the Bible. Another great one, Arzel. Love it.

Mine too. :)
Such a father in wait for the son ...knows that while the son traveled far in the world ... the father stayed with his hopes on the steeple. What the son brings ... is for the father to know home. Nice.
