a word overused

a word misunderstood

It is but a moment

not longer than it should.

"Forever..."

has been heard

in lifetimes before

It lost its glitter--

a treasure no more.

"Forever..."

said they

in the heat of romance

empty, nothing

desperate call for chance

"Forever..."

said he

my lover, only one

I woke up one day

and found him gone.

"Forever..."

Arzel how profound...it's time you start publishing girl. This is some crack right here. I'm loving your mind...the way you broke down the word forever and likened it to repetitious promises that have no weight, uttered to mislead but constant is eloquently done.

This is great, I especially love the format you used, and the reiteration of the concept of forever. At one point or another, we all realize that there is no true forever in anything. But it would perhaps hurt less if we felt more effort was put into pursuing this ideal, as impossible as it may seem.
