Forever is relative to your perception. I like this sad tale.
"Cyrus Jones 1810 to 1913
Made his great granchildren believe
You could live to a hundred and three
A hundred and three is forever when you're just a little kid
So Cyrus Jones lived forever"
Dave Matthews - Gravedigger
Wow. This is very heartbreaking. It was written in simplicity and yet, you have transferred so much emotion in just a few words. I also love the style by which you chose to write this. Great work! :)
Very beautiful. Painful. Moving. Relatable. I find myself hearing the word 'forever' in the voices of people who have said it to me and I can appreciate that you shed light on the fact that we may say and it we may hear it but no one really knows how long that is. The life of the emotion is still 'forever' for the emotion but it is much shorter for the rest of us. Lovely write.
I have believed it to many times and had it turn around and bite me. So your poem touch's me very much, thank you for sharing it with me. I enjoyed reading it very much so, you are an amazing writer keep up the great work.
So very true...forever is a powerful word and unfortunately lightly used...I've had no one use it to make empty promises to me, maybe I'm lucky. But this is profound
I like the way that this poem is formatted, I think that it adds a certain amount of depth and imagery. The topic is relatable, forever is an awfully long time. Repetition can be a hindrance or tool, just keep that in mind. Overall, nice one!
