Beware of the Writer

Beware of the Writer

A Poem by Blue
"

Consider yourself warned.

"
Beware of the writer
who professes his love for you
in lengthy letters
and  in the privacy of a poem.

His vocabulary bank boasts of literary luxury:
similes--sickeningly sugarcoated,
metaphor--menacingly multicolored,
cliches--cunningly crafted.

His verses hold nothing
but empty expressions and poetic pretenses.
Devised to deceive.
Written to wound.

He'll place you on a pedestal
only to watch your downfall to the depths of despair,
another victim of alphabet's ancient art.

Beware of the writer

who weighs your worth with his words.

lol ....wow...i like this poem. Especilly the last lines.
"...another victim of alphabet's ancient art''
"Beware of the Writer"
"who weighs your worth with his words"

This tells me that writers are very talented and can surely change poeple's minds with just words alone.

Well said, not only the poems, any art, any conversations, body expressions, love letters send by lovers, phone calls, chating, emailing, there is no place where one can trust fully, as sincerity is so scarce, great write, true message for the reader, writing not from heart is for business which is the most common vicious circle, so do not fall in that circle, enjoyed

You are welcome...:)...................
A writer will always bring you in with his words but then when they get bored they want new and more causing you to get hurt by their truth. Great words. :)

Thank you so much, Pattie.
Oops, who stepp'd on your poetic toes Arzel....poets should always weigh their words before displaying them for other's to read, nothing worse than insincere poetry. I consider myself warned and well advised. :-)
