7 Haikus about Work

7 Haikus about Work

A Poem by Alejandro Espinoza

Worry
Fuel gauge on empty
And what of the advent bill?
My wallet is thin.

Plenty
Marks of distention
Across heavy, doughy breasts
The infant chortles.

Work
Dancing to and fro
Orders, drinks, food, and the check
It still haunts my dreams.

Staff Meeting
Pressed blue suit, black pants
Objectivity and sales
Rice on the table.

District Manager
He looks at small things
Trying to amuse himself
His job is a bore.

Uniform
Affiliation
Not by spirit but by dress
We all seem the same

Servitude
Odd conversation
With these fat, needy b******s
"What can I get you?"
