Just Waiting

Just Waiting

A Poem by Aekmy

Standing in the sun, waiting to be enrolled in a yearly cycle, I slip off my shoes, feel the ground beneath me.
My eyes are closed.
Warmth glows from the sky, wraps its tender fingers around my timid figure and calms.
(One thousand words could not describe this moment.)
Behind my closed lids, I'm imagining a blue canvas, yet unpainted.
(A blank canvas waiting for me to decorate it with my life.)
Birds sings and chirp all around me. I feel the tingling warmth in my cold fingertips. A warm glow caresses my body, holds me in place, together in one piece.
Like glue, it binds my very being. Like happiness, it fills my heart with joy.
Like a needle and thread, it hems my untidy edges.
Life diamonds make womens eyes gleam with appreciation.
Like the difference between a baby's breath and my even breathing.
As the seasons change, I find it more difficult to feel from the sun.
In a jar in my heart, I keep a pocket full of warmth, happiness. Sunshine.
It feeds me throughout the days like an IV lives for a sick human.
The sunlight can be so blinding, but I embrace it with
closed eyes.

There is beauty is uniqueness. Embrace the strange or perish in the ordinary.
